Shore Family

The Shore family petitioned the Canadian government to have their son discharged on the grounds that he was underage when he enlisted. These efforts were rebuffed. Government officials cited Shore's own wish to remain in service and the state of the military campaign as reasons for not shipping him home, although they promised not to send him to the Front until he reached the age of 19. Charles Shore was eventually sent to France about the time the war ended.
