Item consists of a cardboard poster for the 1968 Mariposa Folk Festival. On the lefthand side of the long, horizontal poster is a black, stylized sun with a face (only half the face is visible) printed on top of an orange background. In the top righthand corner there is black, western-style text reading "At Toronto Island's Mariposa '68 Folk Festival.....Aug 9-11" with "Mariposa '68" in very large, bold text. In the centre of the poster, a column of text written in plain, black uppercase letters reads: "-Three full days of fun in the sun at Toronto Island Park -Music, dance and craftwork with almost 200 participants -Special daytime activities for children". To the far right, another column of text reads: "For special advanced price tickets or descriptive brochure contact--- Mariposa Folk Festival, 45 Bonnechere Cres, Scarboro, 924-6485 -Sam The Record Man, 45 Yonge Street, Toronto -The Book Cellar, 1184 Bay Street, Toronto -Special group rates for 5 or more - 929-5305".
