Item consists of audio recording of Enoch Kent hosting a workshop formed around the idea of big songs, referring to longstanding ballad or story traditions within songs and beginning with Kent performing "Willie's Rare" (trad.), Margaret McArthur performing a ballad entitled "The Fair Maid by the Shore" (trad.), Margaret Bennett Knight discussing the genre of Ceòl Mòr (Gaelic for "Big Music") and performing an example song. The recording is interrupted from 17:05 to 17:24 by a high-pitched frequency. The workshop concludes with Buell Kazee performing "The Wexford Girl" (trad.) and Michael Cooney performing "O, I Forbid You Maidens All" (Robert Burns).
