On June 6, 2015, we attended the Heritage Toronto walk put on by the Portuguese Canadian History Project (PCHP).
The walk navigated the streets of Kensington Market and Portugal Village. Along the way, Historians Gilberto Fernandes, Raphael Costa, and Susana Miranda stopped to explain significant sights related to the Portuguese immigrant experience in the neighbourhood. The walk was a fascinating look into the city’s ethnic history and was done in an incredibly interactive fashion.
Thank you to the PCHP team and Heritage Toronto for such an engaging learning experience!
