Item consists of an audio recording of an interview conducted by members of Radio York with Estelle Klein, artistic director of the Mariposa Folk Festival.

In the interview, Klein discusses her objectives as artistic director of the festival, her opinions of the state of folk music in Canada, the impact of Canadian content regulations on the music industry, the structure and changing format of the Mariposa festival, the influences of artists such as Adam Mitchell, Bruce Cockburn and Jean Carignan, the collection of folk music in Canada and the 'star' system in the Canadian music scene.

At the four minute mark, there is background static and overdubbing. At the 32 minute mark, the interview is interrupted by a telephone call at which point the recording is stopped and picked up mid-sentence.
